Well April was a month of ups and downs for Florida Fishing. With above average water and air temperatures, fishing was really good during the beginning of the month. It slowed as the water temperature approached the mid to upper 80’s on some days. The Snook bite has been consistent and this month we landed several fish at and around the 40″ mark.
Snook season ends at the end of the month
The last day in April ends Snook season (as far as keeping the fish) we can still catch them for sport and the bite should remain strong through May. The Redfish bite has been been better near the full and new moons as the tide cycle is in its full swing. The Tarpon have definitely moved in and we jumped several Tarpon during April. This May should be a banter month with the Tarpon.
