Hello there! I am Melinda Bordes and I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I graduated with my B.S. in ED Degree from the University of South Alabama. After this, I decided to live abroad in Berlin, Germany for a couple years, and explored different areas of Europe during my time there. I was a school teacher for 12 years in North Atlanta, and owned an exceptionally successful antique business for 10 years called Old South Antiques. I have two beautiful daughters who reside in the North Atlanta area, and have been truly blessed with 4 wonderful grandchildren. My favorite activities include landscaping, attending my menagerie of pets, as well as being a volunteer for the Wildlife Rehab involved with rescue, rehab and release. I enjoy refurbishing and preserving historical properties, and restored the Fogarty Home built in 1872. Once that home was sold I returned to the Island lifestyle. I have spent numerous years of honorably serving the Real Estate public. Before I did sales, I worked for five years in the Rental Department of Island Real Estate. Listing and selling “beach homes” and meeting new faces from all across the world is my passion. That paired with ISLAND living at the beach, and that right there is heaven! I have had the absolute pleasure of composing a blog called Silhouettes at Sunset, where I post breathtaking sunsets on Anna Maria. I incorporate my photography expertise with our magnificent sunsets and information on the island, so even if you are away from the Island, you can still catch a sunset!
