Great week to be fishing Anna Maria Island…
We started out the week on the back side of the Full Moon which left us with great tides. Towards the middle end of the week I had to move my trips to the early to late afternoon due to slack water most mornings. All of the trips this week did well on Redfish (Pic 1) (Pic 2).

The Redfish are definitely showing up in good numbers and are biting well on the higher water. The Snook bite still is strong with more bigger fish showing up on the lower Tampa Bay flats, Anna Maria Island, and south Sarasota Bay. Snook season closes on Sunday May 1st and will re-open September 1st. However, have no fear we can still catch them we just can’t keep them. This week I was able to get out and do some late evening Tarpon fishing and we ended up getting one to the boat (video) (Pic). The Tarpon were everywhere and I’m sure they are feeding well on the large outgoing tide late through the night.
