“Invest in a Life Style. Invest in Anna Maria Island.” Once Tom heard that expression, it didn’t take very long for him to persuade his wife that this was the most impressive and unexplored piece of paradise to live and raise a family. That’s when Tom and Peggy, his wife, along with their son Chris, relocated to Anna Maria Island from Michigan in 1987.Tom’s parents had a home in Bradenton since the mid-fifties, and he had visited there numerous times, making the area a sort of second home to him. Tom spent 17 years in the lending banking industry, and was even a Vice-President of Michigan National Bank. Always intrigued with the real estate market, he decided to give real estate sales a shot, and ended up truly enjoying it. In 1990, while working at Neal & Neal REALTORS, Tom was introduced to Frank Davis. The two worked nicely together, so once Frank started Island Real Estate of Anna Maria Island, Inc. in 1993, Tom joined soon after. Tom is very active in his community, serving as a past Director and Treasurer of the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce. He’s been a member of the chamber for 20 year, and is a member of many committees. On top of that, Tom has served as a Director with the Manatee Board of REALTORS, and has been a past Vice Chairman of the Grievance Committee as well as a member of the Professional Standards Committee. Tom loves playing golf and is a member of Key Royale Golf Club. When there is extra time, going boating and traveling are two of his biggest priorities.
