The Gulf Islands Ferry Service is currently undergoing some changes due to the recent impact of Hurricane Milton. Unfortunately, ferry service to the Anna Maria Island City Pier has been temporarily suspended as the area works to recover from the storm’s damage.
In the meantime, ferry operations will continue, but with a new route. Passengers can now board the ferry at the Downtown Bradenton Riverwalk Pier, with the ferry traveling to the Bridge Street Pier on Anna Maria Island. As of March 12, 2025, the Gulf Islands Ferry will run 5 days a week, Wednesday through Sunday. This will allow visitors to continue enjoying the beauty of Anna Maria Island while the team works hard to make the necessary repairs.

Both Manatee County and the City of Anna Maria are working diligently to rebuild and restore the ferry service to the City Pier. The goal is to have service back up and running later this year, so stay tuned for updates as the recovery process continues.
The Gulf Islands Ferry offers a scenic, 50-minute ride with no traffic and is an easy, affordable way to visit Anna Maria Island. Once there, take the Island Trolley to explore the island’s beaches, shops, and dining spots. Or if your already staying on the island, take a trip into downtown Bradenton and enjoy boutiques, restaurants, or the Bishop Museum!
