Bella by the Sea Boutique on Pine Avenue Anna Maria Island

Gorgeous boutique Bella by the Sea on Anna Maria Island is one of the greatest spots you can find! Jo-Ann Lefner opened Bella by the Sea because she was inspired by the picturesque north end of Anna Maria Island. When taking in the sights of Anna Maria, walking down Pine Avenue and enjoying the shop is a must.

Carrying a wide variety of clothing, jewelry and accessories, Bella by the Sea has everything island style woman need to enjoy the perfect beach get away. Accompanying these items are also refurbished/recycled island themed furniture ideal for taking that island feel back home. With new items brought in monthly, you’re never sure what you might find at Bella by the Sea, but you’re sure to have a great time taking in the unique ambiance.

The Bulldog Named Bella

When we asked Jo-Ann how she came up with the name for the store she told us all about her dog Bella and how bulldogs first came into the Lefner family years ago with Dauber, the leader off the pack. Then there was Martha Stewart (who really was on the Martha Stewart Show!).

Next to join the family was Cooper, who had a children’s book written about his life “You Are Who You Are” The book can be purchased and autographed at Bella’s store. So, when Bella arrived it was only fitting that she has the store named after her.  Bella and the history of all the Lefner bullies will be featured in the July issue of the New Barker, Florida’s Top Dog Magazine.

Available for Events

Bella’s is available for events like girl’s nights out and bridal parties! There is truly no other shop like it on Anna Maria Island. So next time you find yourself on Pine Avenue, stop by Bella by the Sea and say hi!

Bella By The Sea is open 10 AM to 5PM Monday through Saturday.

Anna Maria Island Beading at Creations by L in Holmes Beach

Anna Maris Island Beading is one of the best things about visiting the cute Creations by L boutique in Homes Beach! There are items for all interests and budgets at Creations by L on Anna Maria Island.

And when I tell you there is something for everyone, I mean it! Beautiful handmade necklaces, bracelets and earrings twinkle in your eye as you walk in the door. One of my favorite beachy items is the Barefoot Sandal.  They are a great way to dress up your tootsies on a day at the beach. These whimsical and dressy designs combine the fun of an anklet with the fashion of footware. Sandal style without having to shlep your shoes, what a unique way to add flair to beach feet! There are all sorts of fun things to choose from on the display tables, including bookmarks, and cell phone charms, key chains and anklets.

Beading at Creations by L on Anna Maria Island

She offers classes for all levels of interest. Not only does she have supplies for beautiful pieces, she also has a great selection for kids.

She has key chains and bag tags that the boys were able to create. My six year old made an alligator with colorful plastic beads. He proudly sports it on his backpack. My eleven year old son choose a glow in the dark alien face he could use as a key chain.

My nine year old daughter made a beautiful anklet that I really thought should have been for her mother! Lois even had a collection of colorful shaped beads that my three year old was able to use.

The kids have also created some jewelry for their grandmother, with gorgeous glass beads and colored crystals.  Of course, they were made to match Grammy’s favorite colors. Lois patiently taught the novices.  She helped with their designs and creations and offered suggestions to assist in the process.

Beautiful Bead Jewelry on Anna Maria Island

There are lovely crystal pieces for a night out, casual stone pieces for island hopping and custom pieces available to highlight your wedding or special event. There are sets and individual pieces, and walls of beads to look at, for creating your own design. The signature piece of the store, though, has to be the new Anna Maria Island Charm Bracelet.

The display case sits front and center, and lets you make your pick of the perfect design. With its beautiful charm choices, you can create a piece that epitomizes your trip to Anna Maria Island’s little piece of paradise. Did you ride the trolley, see some dolphins, find a starfish? Include it on your charm bracelet – this is a perfect keepsake of a fabulous vacation!

To find the perfect accommodations for your trip, don’t forget to check out our Vacation Rentals. Island Real Estate has great weekend getaway specials, and places all over the island, for a perfect break from the hustle and bustle. Sterling Anvil is a true GEM on Anna Maria Island! – Now located in Bradenton

No longer in service on the Island, but drive down manatee and you’ll find the new shop just before 26th Street. Take a look at almost any wrist or earlobe on an island resident and more than likely it is adorned with work from the Sterling Anvil – Anna Maria Island’s only local jeweler.   All pieces are handmade on site – the most famous being the “Sterling Anvil link bracelet” – I have one in silver and gold.  They make earrings, bracelets, necklaces, charms, anklets, rings and even have a line of children’s jewelry.

Shopping at the Sterling Anvil Anna Maria Island

I love shopping at the Sterling Anvil and am SO eager for their new location on Gulf Drive to open soon – it looks like they will have even more space to show their wares and for shoppers to browse.    It’s a fool proof place to find presents for almost any occasion and budget – I recently purchased a silver dolphin set which included a necklace charm and earrings for a friend’s daughter’s 11th birthday and I think she hasn’t taken either off since.  Seeing the Sterling Anvil box as she opened her present made her feel like such a grownup!  It was adorable.

The service at the Sterling Anvil has always been excellent.  A few years ago I lost one earring of a more popular design set they sell and they allowed me to purchase just one instead of both – they were really sweet about the situation and helped me out.

I have my eye on a heart shaped charm and plan on running over as soon as their new location opens up – which unfortunately for my shopping addition recovery is practically right across the street from my office.   They also have a lot of nautical themed pieces – turtles, dolphins, sandollars, and starfish and so on.  A perfect beach souvenir from your Anna Maria Island vacation!  Stop in while you are visiting the island – ask around for Carol and I’ll probably be there!
