During the upcoming summer season, from July to early August, two additional water taxis will operate between Bradenton and Anna Maria Island. These pontoon-style catamaran boats can comfortably accommodate up to 49 passengers and offer ample space for beachgoers to bring their gear. This new transportation option will allow travelers to conveniently reach Anna Maria Island via a pleasant 30-minute boat ride. The water taxi service will commence at the day dock located in Downtown Bradenton and make scheduled stops along the route, catering to the needs of visitors. The initiative to introduce these water taxis is funded by tourism taxes and aims to alleviate traffic congestion. The cost for a one-way trip is $8 for adults, while an all-day pass can be purchased for $10. Initially, the water taxis will operate exclusively on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 10:30 am to 9:30 pm. However, there are potential plans to expand the service in the future, potentially extending it to Longboat Key.
