This information page provides Anna Maria Island top ten ice cream shops. Well summer is here once again! Nothing is better than spending a day on the beach soaking up the warm Florida Sun, and swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. One of my favorite things to do after a day at the beach, and one of the best ways to cool down during the summer heat on Anna Maria Island is to grab an ice cream treat. So I spent the day traveling the Island in search of the best ice cream and candy treats in the area.

Serving ice cream, gourmet sodas, baked goods, and much more is Island Scoops in Bradenton Beach. Island Scoops sells Big Olaf ice cream, which is hand mixed by local Amish craftsmen and absolutely to die for. Seriously, visitors return year after year for some of the best homemade ice cream Florida has to offer. With about 20 different flavors always on the menu, coming to your final decision may be a bit difficult.
Flavors Include:
Dutch Peanut Butter
Amaretto Almond
Butter Pecan
Kahlua Krunch
Coconut Almond Joy
Pistachio
Heath Bar
Chocolate Lovers
Etc.
Aside from ice cream, they also carry tons of assorted candy, baked goods, and retro gourmet sodas. Some baked good items include cupcakes, gourmet pies, cookies, etc. They have anything and everything sugary and sweet, except their sugar-free ice cream of course.
Island Scoops is open everyday, from 1PM – 10PM. Check out their full menu!

Baked goods and sugary goodness is what you’re in store for at Anna Maria Island Creamery and Bakery. Located toward the North end of the Island, this shop is just two blocks before Pine Ave. Here you will find Handmade Italian gelato, premium soft serve, and sorbettes. Among classic bakery items like croissants and danishes, this bakery also sells William Dean truffles (known from the Hunger Games).

If the bright & fun colors of the building don’t get your attention, then the tasty treats inside sure will. Joe’s Eats & Sweets is an adorable stop in Bradenton Beach that will have your taste buds happy you stopped by. Homemade ice cream, sundaes, and fudge is what they specialize in. The selection of ice cream flavors include classics like chocolate, strawberry, and mint chip, but they also have key lime cheesecake, cotton candy and nerds, pineapple coconut, and even almond turtle fudge. And the list goes on!
Sundae options include over 15 different, delicious concoctions. Two of my favorites are the Coffee Lovers Dream, which contains coffee ice cream, of course, topped with coffee syrup, whipped cream (the real stuff), and a cherry. My second favorite Brownie Sundae, mainly because it comes with a homemade walnut brownie.
End your evening out with a stop here after dinner on Bridge Street, or come over after a day at the beach.

Dips Ice Cream, located at 503 Pine Ave in Anna Maria, has been serving Anna Maria Island delicious ice cream since 1993. Though this ice cream shop is more than just a place to go for a sugar rush. Dips is also a candy & sports shop.
Adults will enjoy the many throwback candies, including bottle caps, wax lips and jaw breakers. Kids will like the dotted ice cream pellets and general abundance of delicious refined sugar. And with over 30 flavors of ice cream (including non-dairy), you’re sure to find a treat you’ll enjoy! Did I mention they also have Mango and Tangerine Italian ice? Because they do, and it is the perfect way to cool down on one of Florida’s hot summer days.
Anna Maria Island is home to the Holmes Beach Holy Cow Ice Cream shop, one of the best ice cream stops in the area. It is also a great gift shop too! With a tiki lounge and a kids area, Holy Cow Ice Cream is also a perfect place to go with the family.
While you’re there make sure to try one of my personal favorites, their famous handmade chocolates.
Holy Cow Ice Cream is located on Holmes Beach in the same shopping complex as Walgreens. Swing on by with the whole family and enjoy some delicious frozen treats!
