One of my favorite things to do after a day at the beach, and one of the best ways to cool down during the summer heat on Anna Maria Island is to grab an ice cream treat. So I spent the day traveling the Island in search of the best ice cream and candy treats in the area.
Joe’s Eats & Sweets – Bradenton Beach
Joe’s Eats & Sweets in Bradenton Beach has been a local favorite for over 20 years, serving over 50 flavors of handmade ice cream, and specialty treats like their famous chocolate covered bananas, key lime pie on a stick, and much more. Holy Cow Ice Cream in Holmes Beach is another must stop offering over 30 flavors of ice cream as well as soft serve, and slush puppies. The tiki lounge and kids area is a great place to enjoy a cool treat with the family. While your there don’t forget to try some handmade chocolates.

Big Olaf Creamery in Bradenton Beach is under new ownership and is now called The Cream of Anna Maria offering 32 Flavors of ice cream, including popular flavors like blueberry cheesecake, and rum raisin. From what I hear, tropical fruit smoothies are coming soon as well.
Sweet Berries Frozen Custard & Eatery – Bradenton
Sweet Berries is located just a couple of short miles off Anna Maria Island on Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton. Serving up the finest frozen custard, soups, salads, and sandwiches it’s worth the trip! Ask them about their flavor of the month.
