Myakka River State Park in Sarasota County is 37,000 acres of untouched wetlands, prairies, hammocks, and pinelands. Making it one of the oldest and largest parks in the state.

The park is open 365 days a year, from 8AM till sunset. A few experiences here at Myakka River State Park include; bicycling, boat tours, camping, and hiking. If you’re looking for a chance to see a wild alligator, this park won’t let you down. There are hundreds of wild alligators that call Myakka River State Park their home, and the boat tours will give you the best opportunity of viewing some.

Amenities at the park include the visitor center, the Pink Gator Cafe, and the canopy walkway. The canopy walkway is suspended 25 feet above the ground, and stretches 100 feet through the palm hammock canopy. This walkway gives visitors a whole new perspective, and an opportunity to observe life from the treetops above.
